AhlulBayt News Agency - Following a series of attacks conducted by the people of Mosul on the so-called Islamic State (IS, Daesh) bases, the extremist group has reportedly started replacing its local leaders with the foreign ones, suspecting them of betrayal.
Said Muslim, a Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) official from Mosul, said that IS has recently decided to replace its local security officials with foreign jihadists, fearing the local officials to side with the Iraqi Security and Kurdish Peshmerga forces when the Mosul liberation assault begins.
IS is dreading the people of Mosul due to the atrocities it has carried out against them, Muslim added.
Ghayas Surchi, a PUK official from Mosul said that people of Mosul have successfully carried out 25 undercover attacks against IS, killing scores of militants, according to the information obtained from Mosul.
"IS has completely lost trust in its Iraqi members, so all the guards protecting the administrative positions in Mosul are now foreigners" Surchi reiterated.
